Employing old Japanese joinery and inlay techniques, Ray Van Cleve constructs his sterling silver boxes without heat or solder. Through modification of a japanese metal inlay method, he carves a special groove in which to press the copper. The sides of the boxes are joined with miniature dovetails or folding. The top features a beautiful Agate and sits on top with a rectangular rail holding it in place.
